This generous grant will help fund the purchase of a new $250,000 state of the art ambulance. This will be the front line advanced life support ambulance for the McLean fire station when it goes into service later this month. It will be staffed 24 hours per day, seven days per week and is expected to respond to more than 2,000 calls per year.

They will be crossing 8 southern states and stopping in 10 cities to host media events to raise awareness and funds for the local chapters of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and Mental Health America over the two months. They are: San Diego, Phoenix, El Paso, Austin, Baton Rouge, Mobile, Pensacola, Tallahassee, Gainesville, St. Augustine.ated to raise awareness and funds for mental illness.
Both riders plan to blog their experience and use social media to share photos and articles. It is their hope to inspire others to learn more about this issue and to be an advocate for change. Donations can be made by going to the Ride To Awareness website.
