Open House
Open House is held every year on the Saturday that falls during the week of October 9th.
This date is recognized around the county as the anniversary of the Great Chicago fire. Legend has it the fire was started by Mrs. O'Leary's cow kicking over a lantern while being milked.
1970 Pirsch
 |
The 1970 Pirsch is the oldest piece of apparatus in the station. While it is still in the Fairfax County fleet of vehicles, it is primarily used as a ceremonial piece. In addition, it is used upon request for children's birthday parties, community events and the Apple Blossom Parade in Winchester, Va. |

Kids Fire Safety Trailer
This educational tool is used to educate children between the ages of 6 and 10 years on safety within the home. The staff leads the children through a living room, kitchen and upstairs bedroom where they must find the unsafe conditions in each room. The unit also has a closed circuit television where parents and others may watch their children as they proceed through the trailer.
EMS Standbys
We receive requests periodically to stand by and provide EMS service at community events at places such as Turkey Run Farm and Wold Trap.
Santa
During the holiday season, you may see one of our trucks transporting Santa around the neighborhood. Many in the community look forward to this event each year and the children enjoy seeing Santa. |
